Nancy Lopez
Nancy Lopez, One of women's golf's most celebrated players, is this year's SWAS "Star". Her Pro career began as a sophomore at Tulsa University. She was Rookie of the Year in 1978; named Player of the Year by the LPGA four times (1978,1979, 1985, 1988); and was inducted into the Hall of Fame when she was just 30 years old (1987). Unquestionably the greatest female golfer of her generation, she has 48 LPGA Tour wins; 3 LPGA Major wins; won the Vare Trophy three times for having the season's lowest scoring average; played on the Solheim Cup team in 1990 and successfully captained the team in 2005; and was the LPGA's leading money-winner three times - with career earnings topping $5.3 million. She and her husband, former All-Star baseball player Ray Knight, have three children. Nancy is known for her cheerful persona, on and off the course, and we are delighted she is joining us this year.
